ومثلما يقول الحدادون ” من الأفضل أن تضرب الحديد بينما يكون ساخنا ” سيكون غدًا أفضل وقت لمغادرتهم، في البداية طارت لايتنينغ إلى أعلى القلعة حيث كانت ماغي جالسة بالفعل على الحائط وتنتظرها.

الخوف يأتي من المجهول للتغلب على الخوف عليك الإقتراب من المجهول … الفتاة الصغيرة شجعت نفسها بإستمرار ثم أضاءت شعلة وصعدت السلالم المؤدية إلى الأسفل، عند الوصول إلى زاوية القناة أشعلت النار بهدوء للتحقق ولم يتبق سوى شظايا من الباب الخشبي المنهار، لم يتم حظر مدخل الطابق السفلي أيضًا من قبل الشيطان الشيء الوحيد الذي تركه عند الباب كان ظلامًا كثيفًا، مثل الفم المفتوح الذي ينتظر إبتلاع الأشخاص الذين يدخلون.

في هذه اللحظة سمعت فجأة آثار صوت يطفو من الظلام، فقط صوت ضعيف ولكن لا تزال تشعر بأنه مألوف للغاية – على الفور وقف شعرها بالكامل وإمتلأ جسدها من قبل الرعشات والرغبة التي لا يمكن السيطرة عليها تقريبا للإلتفاف والهرب مرة أخرى! صرّت بأسنانها وكافحت من أجل قمع الخوف في أسفل قلبها، ثم بعد أن غطت فمها ثبّتت أذنها وإستمعت بإهتمام مرة أخرى، هذه المرة كان الصوت أكثر وضوحًا وكانت النغمة هي نفسها تمامًا كما كانت في المرة الأخيرة.
عادت إلى شكلها الأصلي وفتحت حقيبتها وأمسكت بها حتى تتمكن الفتاة الصغيرة من تأكيد محتواها، هذه المرة كانت قد خفضت كمية الطعام إلى النصف ولكن على الأقل أضافت أيضًا خنجرًا.
في حوالي الظهيرة وصل الإثنان بنجاح إلى وجهتهما، كان النصف المتبقي من البرج الحجري لا يزال مخفيًا داخل الغابات المغطاة بالطحالب والكروم، بدا كل شيء من حولهم كما كان قبل بضعة أشهر لا يبدو كما لو كان أي شيء قد تغير، ومع ذلك لا تزال لايتنينغ تطير بضع جولات حول البرج لتأكيد سلامتها قبل الهبوط برفق.

في عقلها كررت لايتنينغ الرحلة بالفعل عدة مرات حيث وصلت إلى نقطة حيث كانت تجد طريقها إلى هناك حتى بعيون مغلقة، كان الطقس غائمًا بعض الشيء اليوم لكنه كان أفضل بكثير من السحب المظلمة التي كانت هناك في المرة الأخيرة، وكلما سقط لون الأرض ببطء خلفهم كلما إقتربوا من البرج الحجري وكلما أصبحت أعصاب لايتنينغ أكبر.

عندما رأت لايتنينغ صاحب السمو يغادر سحبت ماغي إلى زاوية القاعة.
عند الوصول إلى مدخل البرج رأت أنه لم تتم تغطيته بالنباتات وأن المجموعة الصغيرة من الكروم التي قطعها خنجرها كانت لا تزال قائمة، أمسكت أنفاسها وتقدمت للأمام على طول الطريق السابق ودخلت البرج، أخذت خطوة واحدة تلو الأخرى وإقتربت ببطء من وسط البرج مع مرورها إلى الطابق السفلي، في الوقت الذي رأت فيه الدرج المؤدي إلى الظلام أمامها سمعت صوت قلبها وهو يدق.
داخل قلبها كررت لايتنينغ بصمت تعليم والدها مرارًا وتكرارًا، غدًا قد تواجه خطرًا حقيقيًا ولكن لا ينبغي أن يخاف المستكشف من المخاطرة ولا يجب أن يتراجع، إذا لم تتمكن من التغلب عليه فقد كانت خائفة من عدم قدرتها على الطيران بحرية مرة أخرى، وفقًا لخطة صاحب السمو الملكي كان من المقرر إستكشاف البرج الحجري بعد أشهر الشياطين وسيكون تعاونًا بين الجيش الأول والساحرات، ومع ذلك كانت تشعر بالقلق من أنه بحلول ذلك الوقت حتى لو قاموا بزيارة البرج مرة أخرى فسيكون من الصعب عليها أن تحقق بطريقة أو بأخرى فكرة “التغلب على الخوف” – تجرأت فقط على الإقتراب من منطقة الخطر من خلال الإعتماد على قوة الجميع فقط لا يمكن أن يسمى مغامرة.
الخوف يأتي من المجهول للتغلب على الخوف عليك الإقتراب من المجهول … الفتاة الصغيرة شجعت نفسها بإستمرار ثم أضاءت شعلة وصعدت السلالم المؤدية إلى الأسفل، عند الوصول إلى زاوية القناة أشعلت النار بهدوء للتحقق ولم يتبق سوى شظايا من الباب الخشبي المنهار، لم يتم حظر مدخل الطابق السفلي أيضًا من قبل الشيطان الشيء الوحيد الذي تركه عند الباب كان ظلامًا كثيفًا، مثل الفم المفتوح الذي ينتظر إبتلاع الأشخاص الذين يدخلون.
