عبست شين يانشياو عندما كانت تستمع إلى إهانات ذكور الإلف. ومضت عيناها الهادئة بعدم الارتياح.

 

 

تعرضت الإلف الصغيرة للظلم الشديد ، لكنها لم تجرؤ على المجادلة. كان بإمكانها فقط أن تعض شفتيها وتنظر إلى ذكور الإلف الثلاثة وهي تبكي.

 

 

 

لكن ذلك الرجل الإلف كان لا يزال غير راغب في تركها ، مما جعل تعبير شين يانشياو قبيحًا أكثر فأكثر.

عندما خرجت كلماتها ، ذهل الإلف الذكور الثلاثة ، ونظرت الإلف الصغيرة التي كانت تقاوم دموعها من السقوط أيضًا إلى شين يانشياو بعيون دامعة.

ترددت الإلف لحظة قبل أن تجيب بصوت يرتجف: “نعم”.

 

 

“إنها عملة بلورية واحدة لعشر فواكه ، أليس كذلك؟” نظرت شين يانشياو إلى الإلف وسألت مرة أخرى.

“أنت ما زلت صغيرا ، ولكن كل ما تتعلمه هو الأعمال المخزية للبشر. أنتم أعضاء قبيلة ضوء القمر متدهورون حقًا. هل تعتقدون أن الإلف الآخرين سيشترون هذه القمامة؟”

 

 

ترددت الإلف لحظة قبل أن تجيب بصوت يرتجف: “نعم”.

“لم تكن؟” سخر الإلف ، ورمي الفاكهة على الأرض وداس عليها.

 

فقط عندما كانت شين يانشياو مستعدة للدفع ، بدا صوت بارد ومتعجرف بصوت عالٍ من خلفها.

ابتسمت شين يانشياو قليلا. تمسك يدها بالإلف بينما أخرجت الأخرى المحفظة التي أعدها لها سكان عشيرة كيلين. ثم وضعت المحفظة التي أمسكت بها في يد الإلف ، “سأشتري كل الفاكهة في متجرك.”
