بجانبها كرةٌ تتغير باستمرار. كانت مصنوعةً من جزيئاتٍ مستديرة؛ غيّرت حركاتها المتزامنة شكلها وحجمها. بدت قادرةً على أن تصبح أكبر من الخطيئة نفسه أو أصغر من أن تُرى بنظرةٍ سماوية. من المؤكد أنه يمكن تحويلها إلى أسلحةٍ لا تُحصى، لكن هذه لم تكن خاصيتها الأساسية. سيلاحظ المتدربون الأكثر تمييزًا هالةً تحوم حول الكرة. بدت غامضةً وضعيفةً، لكنها كانت تتمتع بخاصية الخلود. نفسٌ واحدٌ كفيلٌ بتحرير سيدها من قيود العالم الفانِي والصعود إلى عالم الخلود.
