كانت أشعة الشمس تتسلل من بين فتحات الستائر، وتسقط على وجهه.
نظر “تشانغ هنغ” إلى ساعته. كانت الساعة تشير إلى 07:29. التقط القط البريطاني ووضعه على طاولة القهوة بجانبه، ثم نهض وجلس على الأريكة.

“صحيح، لدينا الكثير، لكن ليس قبل أن أنتهي من عملي.
إذا استطعت تحضير القهوة وتحميص الخبز قبل أن أخرج من الحمّام، فلن أطلب منك دفع ثمن الإفطار.”

قال بجدية: “يمكنك خصم ثمنها من راتبي. دعيني أقولها ببساطة، هي مهمة جدًا بالنسبة لي…”
قالت بدهشة:
“تعمل بسرعة.”
